چکیده

The observation of the Hong–Ou–Mandel (HOM)-type two-photon interference (TPI) has played an important role in development photonic quantum technologies. time-resolved coincidence-detection technique been effectively used to identify and characterize TPI phenomena long-coherence optical fields. Here, we report on experimental demonstration two phase-randomized weak coherent pulses with coincidence detection. mutual coherence time between lights is determined by applying a frequency noise one interfering lights. We analyze HOM-type fringe visibility according ratio pulse duration.

Two-photon interference of weak coherent laser pulses recalled from separate solid-state quantum memories.

Quantum memories allowing reversible transfer of quantum states between light and matter are central to quantum repeaters, quantum networks and linear optics quantum computing. Significant progress regarding the faithful transfer of quantum information has been reported in recent years. However, none of these demonstrations confirm that the re-emitted photons remain suitable for two-photon inte...

Time-Resolved Two-Photon Quantum Interference

The interference of two independent single-photon pulses impinging on a beam splitter is analysed in a generalised time-resolved manner. Different aspects of the phenomenon are elaborated using different representations of the single-photon wave packets, like the decomposition into single-frequency field modes or spatio-temporal modes matching the photonic wave packets. Both representations lea...

Time-resolved measurement of the quantum states of photons using two-photon interference with short-time reference pulses

To fully utilize the energy-time degree of freedom of photons for optical quantum-information processes, it is necessary to control and characterize the temporal quantum states of the photons at extremely short time scales. For measurements of the temporal coherence of the quantum states beyond the time resolution of available detectors, two-photon interference with a photon in a short-time ref...

Interference between femtosecond pulses observed via time-resolved spontaneous fluorescence

We study spontaneous fluorescence excited by a series of phase-controlled femtosecond pulses in an inhomogeneously broadened medium containing a frequency comb of sharp spectral holes. We show that evolution of the spontaneous fluorescence on picosecond time scale is sensitive to interference between the excitation pulses and that varying the relative phase between the excitation pulses changes...
